Weekend Accident On Interstate 26 W In Kingsport, Claims Life Of Johnson City Driver

An investigation in Kingsport remains open and active following a violent, single vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Johnson City man over the weekend. Kingsport police say 50 year old Dennis D. Turbyfill, died in the crash that occurred early Saturday morning near the intersection of I-26 and I 81. Preliminary reports say while Turbyfill was navigating exit 57 A onto I26 West, the Dodge Ram 15 hundred went off the left side of the ramp, spun into the shoulder of Interstate 26 and flipped across the eastbound lanes. A passenger in he vehicle received non life threatening injuries.
