Virginia Department of Social Services says SNAP recipients will again receive emergency allotments in October
The Virginia Department of Social Services announced that eligible residents on SNAP benefits will again receive emergency allotments in October. These emergency funds began for Virginia SNAP recipients as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The emergency allotments raise existing SNAP recipients’ monthly benefits to the maximum allowable amount based on household size. Participants with questions are encouraged to contact their local department of social services or visit common help dot Virginia dot gov to access account information. The department says these emergency benefits will be automatically loaded to Virginia recipients’ EBT cards on October 16th.
