UPDATE: Body found Sunday is missing Johnson City resident Cayla Nickels

The body recovered by Washington County, Tennessee authorities on Sunday near Knob Creek Dock Road is a Johnson City woman who was reported missing two months ago.

A report from Sheriff Keith Sexton said the remains were identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as 35-year-old Cayla Nickels and at this point in the investigation foul play is not suspected in her disappearance on January 23.

Family members reported her missing after she left her Cash Hollow Road home on one of the coldest nights of the year with no cell phone, money or bank card.
