Unicoi sheriff drives injured deputy to hospital following domestic call on Coffee Ridge

Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley had to transport one of his deputies to the hospital after several officers had to use force to subdue a suspect during a domestic call near Coffee Ridge.

Allen P. Parker, 32, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and six counts of assault. Hensley said Parker had to be knocked out with a sedative to be transported to a hospital for his injuries.

Parker is accused of assaulting a female at the home, trying to stab a police officer, then biting a deputy. All officers were treated and released. Hensley commended his officers for using necessary and not lethal force in the incident.
