Two Local Municipalities In Top Twenty Fastest Growing Cities In Volunteer State

Johnson City and Kingsport have both been ranked as two of the top 20 fastest growing cities in the Volunteer State. According to Stacker, who compiled the list, Johnson City gained nine thousand 288 residents, while Kingsport grew in population by seven thousand 590 new residents from 2010 to 2020 according to the 2020 census data. Johnson City came in at number 15, while the Model City turned up at 15th. Nashville and Murfreesboro rounded out the top two population growth areas with a combined total population growth of more than 150 thousand residents.
