Two fires in Bristol, Virginia leave one person injured

Two fires in Bristol, Virginia on Saturday destroyed two side buildings leaving one person injured.
The first blaze occurred just after 1 am on Page Street and produced flames that shot 30 to 40 feet in the air, according to the report. The main residence suffered exterior damages due to the hot temperatures but the owner was able to return after the incident.
The second fire was in the 200 block of Hadden Street. A department report said a debris field was discovered at the scene, signaling a potential explosion. The home owner told fire crews that he was using a propane heater in the outbuilding and two dogs inside likely turned the device over. The animals were killed while the owner was transported for treatment of burn injuries to his arms. The agency has ruled that blaze accidental.
