Teen motorcycle driver killed in Sugar Grove

A teenage motorcycle rider was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Wythe County over the Labor Day Weekend.

A report from State Police said 18-year-old Liam McCoy of Blacksburg was on a sportbike when he entered a curve at a high rate of speed on Route 69 near Sugar Grove causing the cycle to run off the road and strike a guard rail. He later died at an area hospital.
