SWVA Woman, Dies In Single Vehicle Crash, Driver Of Vehicle Cited

A southwest Virginia woman is dead, and the driver of the vehicle she was a passenger in is cited for reckless driving, following a Tuesday single vehicle crash in Washington County Virginia. State Police tell us 76 year old Bobbie Smith of Lebanon, Virginia died from injuries she received when the 2006 Kia Sorento, she was a passenger in ran off the right side of Route 19 near Black Hollow Road, struck a ditch, and overturned. Smith was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Meanwhile, 72 year old Edda C. Coleman, also of Lebanon, the driver of the vehicle, received non life threatening injuries and was cited for failure to maintain the lane of travel.
