Suspected Burglary, Homeowner Both Wounded In Exchange Of Gunfire In Carter County

A suspected burglary and a homeowner, were both injured in a shootout last night in a section of Roan Mountain in Carter County. According to Carter County authorities, the shooting took place at a residence in the 400 block of Cove Creek Road. Gunfire was exchanged between the two and both the suspect and the homeowner were hospitalized with undetermined gunshot wound injuries.
