Southwest Virginia man sentenced to 50 years in prison for “horrific atrocities”
A Southwest Virginia man will spend 50 years in prison on federal charges that a Homeland Security agent called “horrific atrocities.”
Prosecutors said William Dean Blankenship, 42, of Bland County, recorded himself having sex with underage girls and lured the victims into the activity by offering them narcotics and controlled substances.
Dozens of the digital files were found at Blankenship’s home. Investigators determined the girls were 13 and 14 when the crimes began.
