Schedule announced for Scott Bloomquist Celebration of Life event at Volunteer Speedway

Ariel Bloomquist is among the speakers at a celebration of life service on Sept. 15 at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap for her father Scott Bloomquist.

Track owners said the event is free and grandstands will open at 5 p.m. and the event will start at 7 p.m.

Bloomquist, regarded as the best dirt track driver of his or any generation, was killed in a plane crash last month in Hawkins County. One of his #0 late model machines and an urn will be posted in Victory Lane.
