One Million Dollars From ARC To Assist Two Southwest Virginia Counties
A million dollars is headed to two southwest Virginia counties to help create jobs, improve public health, and boost local economies. The Appalachian Regional Commission is allocating 500 thousand for the Hamilton Sewer Project in the Town of Wise. That project will result in more than 55 hundred linear feet of sewer line installation. Currently, households in the community of Hamilton are served by on site septic systems The Appalachian Regional Commission is also funding a five hundred thousand dollar renovation of the Russell Theater in Lebanon, Virginia. When complete, the renovation will attract visitors and residents from across the region to downtown Lebanon for live performances, concerts, and other events.
