One fatality reported in Russell County apartment fire

A fatal apartment fire in Russell County had multiple crews respond to extinguish it. A four unit apartment complex on Hawkins Mill Lane, caught fire around 4:40pm Wednesday. One unit was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived, two burned down completely, the other two have smoke and water damage. One fatality was confirmed but the identity has not been released. The three other families displaced are receiving services from the American Red Cross. The Virginia State Police is investigating the fire.
