Northeast State receives grant to support rural healthcare

Northeast State Community College has received a $233,376 grant from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development to support rural healthcare workforce development in the upper East Tennessee area. A press release from Northeast State said the department distributes these grants to help expand the state’s healthcare workforce by improving and funding existing curriculums and programs. The grant will be from July 1 to June 20, 2026. Training courses include courses in Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Phlebotomy Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Medical Coding and Billing Specialist, and Peer Recovery Specialist.
