Man Charged With Burglary, After Falling On Two Sleeping Children While Making Getaway

An Erwin man is jailed and charged with Aggravated Burglary after he fell on two children sleeping while trying to make a get away. 24 year old Kirk Buchanan, intoxicated at the time, apparently broke into a home in Bumpus Cove and fell on top of two children sleeping on a couch. The children began screaming, waking up their mother, who immediately took them and hid in another room and called 911. Deputies arrived to find Buchanan completely unaware of his surroundings.
