Independent study ordered by Bristol Tennessee shows no harmful emissions from landfill
Preliminary results of a city-ordered study show Bristol Tennessee residents are not being exposed to harmful levels emitted from the Bristol Virginia landfill but the impact on quality of life is very measurable.
The report produced by Green Toxicology said the pollutants do not rise to the point of issuing health hazards but benzene levels do range 15 times higher than average.
Bristol Virginia was just issued $3,000 in fines by Bristol Virginia Utilities due to the landfill’s benzene readings that violated policy.
