Hawkins County: Police find stash of pills while searching justice center visitor
A woman from Rogersville was arrested while trying to enter the Hawkins County Justice Center after an officer working the metal detector found pills in her possession. The deputy asked 22-year-old Shawna Whitson to place anything she had into a bin and walk through a metal detector as she entered the building.
As the deputy was checking her wallet, she found five white pills in it. Whitson stated she didn’t know what they were, that her mother-in-law gave them to her and they helped her relax. After investigating, police say the pills appeared to be Tramadol. Shawna Whitson was arrested for possession of a schedule IV substance.
