Grocery Retailer, Voicing Support For Repeal Of Virginia Grocery Tax

The President and CEO of one of this region’s largest retail grocery stores says the time to act is now. Steve Smith, of Food City, joined several other leaders in the food industry to voice his support for a repeal of the Commonwealth’s grocery tax. Smith says the grocery tax is the most regressive tax, because those who can least afford it pay the same as everybody else. Smith’s comments were part of a Press Release from Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin’s office.
