Grandy exits BrightRidge board due to pending legal hearings with county
A legal battle between BrightRidge and Washington County, Tennessee over a bitcoin mining operation has turned Mayor Joe Grandy’s leave of absence from the energy authority board into a resignation.
Grandy said in a statement that he wanted to separate himself from any formal association with BrightRidge due to pending litigation. He also said his pause in service was more of an issue than the actual suit.
The county wants the bitcoin operation in Limestone to stop and claims the company has violated terms of its zoning permit.
