Fourth attorney appointed for Sean Williams
A federal judge Monday appointed a fourth attorney for accused child rapist and child pornography producer Sean Williams and said he wouldn’t get a fifth. The trial was also postponed on his escape charge to July 16. Judge Ronnie Greer’s 13-page memorandum opinion and order, on the eve of what would have been day one of Williams’ escape trial, named Bristol attorney Ilya Berenshteyn to represent him. This will be Williams fourth attorney and the judge said it will be the last one he appoints. If Williams tries to fire this attorney, the judge says Williams will have to represent himself at trial, and there will be no more delays regardless. Williams’ is at the center of two federal civil lawsuits against Johnson City and some of its current and former police officers.
