ETSU hosting ‘Out of the Darkness’ walk to support mental health awareness
East Tennessee State University is hosting an ‘Out of the Darkness’ walk to support mental health awareness this weekend. This walk aims to raise awareness of the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and the lives of others. Organizers invite both the ETSU community and the public to attend this free event. ETSU Clemmer College lecturer, Christy Oaks, says, “The past year has been especially difficult as the effects of the pandemic have intensified feelings of isolation and fear. Being part of the walk is a way to let others know they are not alone.” This Out of the Darkness walk happens at the ETSU intramural field on Jack Vest Drive this Sunday at 2 PM.
