Elizabethton Police investigating weekend shooting incident

Elizabethton Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree on Hudson Drive. Around 7:00 p.m, witnesses reported two people exchanging gunfire before leaving the scene. Authorities believe one person was shot, that individual has not yet been located. Two separate scenes are being investigated: the original shooting location and a vehicle connected to the incident found somewhere else. It is believed that the individuals may have been acquainted and that there is no threat to the public.
