Dog dispute ends with attempted murder charge in Hawkins County
A dispute over dogs in Hawkins County has led to a charge of attempted second-degree murder against a Mooresburg resident who police said fired several shots at the victim.
Ronald Goff, Jr., 50, was arrested over the weekend following an investigation in the 400 block of Dean Road. The victim told officers he heard gunshots near his residence and then found Goff near his driveway who said he was shooting at dogs he owned.
Goff reportedly pulled the victim into the truck and hit him with a pistol before firing another shot and speeding away. Deputies found a bullet hole inside the victim’s truck and retrieved a bullet casing from the scene.
