Crews continue repairs on Highway 58 in Damascus VA
It’s been a month since VDOT and construction crews began their work to repair Highway 58 in Damascus, Virginia. Derick Dotson, construction manager for the project, says crews have removed over 16,000 cubic yards of debris with more left to remove. Crews are using specially mined rocks to build a retaining wall along Laurel Creek. Already, over 7000 tons of rock have been laid in preparation of new roads. A completion timeline of the project has not been set, but is expected to take the better part of a year.
