Bristol Virginia officials call in HAZMAT team following water overflow at landfill
A clean-up contractor was being summoned to the Bristol Virginia Landfill after employees there discovered an overflow of water on the site’s eastern campus.
A report issued by City Manager Randall Eads’ office said city fire crews review the property to check for contamination of soil or water.
The decision was then made to activate Bristol’s HAZMAT team and also seek assistance from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management to select a clean-up crew for the chore.
