Attempted Murder Suspect, Turns Himself In To Police Custody In Carter County

A suspect charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Roan Mountain earlier this week has turned himself in to police custody in Carter County. According to a release from the sheriff’s office, 40 year old Eric Lee Thompson is wanted for shooting and critically wounding a so far unnamed individual Wednesday night. The victim walked into a gas station in Roan Mountain with a gunshot wound. Investigators believe Thompson shot the victim at Thompson’s home on Shell Creek Road.
