Emory & Henry signs letter opposing Trump Administrations higher education stance

Emory & Henry University has joined hundreds of colleges and universities in opposing the Trump administration’s recent actions against higher education. The American Association of Colleges and Universities has issued a letter condemning what it describes as “unprecedented government overreach and political interference now endangering American higher education.” This follows Harvard University’s lawsuit against the Trump administration over threats to freeze more than $2 billion in funding. The administration has also withheld millions in funding to Columbia University. Emory & Henry is currently the only local institution to have signed the letter. The White House has stated that the funding freezes are a result of colleges and universities refusing to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, ban masks at campus protests, and meet other demands.
