Motorcyclist arrested after high speed pursuit

One person was arrested Wednesday after a high-speed pursuit in Weber City. The Weber City Police Department says an officer attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle on U.S. Highway 23. The driver fled, resulting in a pursuit that reached speeds more than 100 mph. The pursuit continued onto side roads, and ended at a river where the driver was arrested. The driver is being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail.
