TVA cancels energy conservation request
The Tennessee Valley Authority Canceled its request for voluntary energy conservation on Wednesday after it reported meeting the highest peak demand in its 91-year history. The press release says that the record-breaking peak of 35,319 megawatts on Wednesday was logged during a one-hour period at 8 a.m. with a system temperature of 11 degrees. The release says TVA’s power system remained stable throughout the event.
