TN State Parks continue recovery after Hurricane Helene
Rocky Fork State Park in Unicoi County announced Monday on social media that it was reopened and welcoming visitors. Normal operating hours are from sunrise to sunset. Rocky Fork was one of four state parks to close after Helene. Only Rocky Fork and Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park have been able to fully reopen. Roan Mountain State Park has partially reopened, but accord to Tennessee State Parks there are still “significant closures” of areas inside the park. David Crockett Birthplace State Park remains completely closed as that state park sustained major damage.
