JCPD release name of downtown shooting victim
Johnson City Police have released the name of the victim in a fatal weekend shooting. On Sunday, September 8 at approximately 2 a.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on East Main Street. Investigators found two victims with gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to the hospital for treatment. 18 year old Charles Dabney of Greeneville died as a result of his injuries. The other victim was treated and released. Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and the result of an altercation that took place earlier in the evening. No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
