State of TN files response to Boswell change of venue request

The State of Tennessee has filed its response to Megan Boswell’s attorney’s motion for a change of venue. In a response, Second Judicial District Attorney General Barry Staubus asked the court to deny that motion. If the motion is accepted, Megan Boswell’s murder trial would take place outside of Sullivan County. Boswell faces numerous charges, including two counts of felony murder, in the death of her toddler daughter, Evelyn. Tennessee law requires trials take place in the county where the alleged offenses took place, but a court can change the venue if a fair trial is unlikely. Boswell is set to appear in Sullivan County court on Thursday afternoon.
