High School Basketball coach arrested
The Washington County Tennessee Sheriff’s office reports that a Daniel Boone High School basketball coach was arrested Christmas Eve and charged with aggravated domestic assault and interference with emergency calls. Deputies responded to an aggravated assault at a home in the 100 Block of Cambridge Grove Way in Gray around 2 a.m. Officers found an individual with injuries to their throat and face and then told deputies that they tried to call 911 but 41 year old Justin Humphries took their phone. Deputies located Humphries, who coaches girls’ basketball at Daniel Boone High School, around 10 a.m. on Sunday, and two handguns reportedly were found in Humphries’ vehicle. Humphries was taken to the Washington County Detention Center where he was released on a $50,000 bond. A statement from Washington County Tennessee schools says Humphries has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
