Washington County, TN “convenience voting centers” not ready for upcoming elections
Washington County, Tennessee voters will have to wait two more years for the launch of a program aimed at making it easier to vote. The idea behind convenience voting centers is to eliminate having to vote in your designated precinct. Instead of voting at an assigned location, you could vote wherever is most convenient. That requires extra safeguards to prevent double voting in multiple locations and administrator of elections Dana Jones said things aren’t ready yet. The lack of time for adequate testing of the system, is why state officials are telling county election officials to wait until 2026 to begin using the new system.
