Justice Center offers training to Johnson City bars and retailers to help victims
A Johnson City group that provides a safe haven for victims of sexual assault and other crimes is launching a project to help business owners and workers recognize the warning signs of someone in need.
The Family Justice Center, which also serves Washington County, is joining the Safe Bar TN program. It’s a network of bars, restaurants, and community groups that work together to prevent sexual violence and create safe nightlife spaces. It also provides resources on topics like human trafficking and domestic abuse.
Retailers who complete the program will receive a Safe Bar decal for their front door, letting patrons know that its employees can help keep them safe.
Sessions can be scheduled by calling (423) 722-3720 or email MJaynes@johnsoncitytn.org.
