Former St. Anne Bristol priest accused of child sex abuse in 1980s

A Catholic priest who announced his retirement in May is under investigation for child sex abuse during his time in the Tri-Cities.

The Catholic Diocese of Richmond issued a statement about Walter Lewis and the abuse allegation that the victim said occurred during his time as pastor at St. Anne Catholic Church in the 1980s.

Lewis, who has denied the charge, is prohibited from any public ministry in the diocese while the case is examined. The group wrote their information on Lewis has been turned over to city police.
