Commonwealth Receives More Than Seven Million Dollars In Gambling Tax Revenues For September
The Virginia Lottery releases its report on sports wagering for the month of September and it shows the Commonwealth received a hefty tax payment from the Virginia Lottery. During the month of September, Virginian’s wagered more than 411 million dollars through thirteen licensed operators, 40 percent higher than last year. That generated more than seven point two million dollars in tax revenue for the Commonwealth. Seven million dollars of those revenues will go to the state’s general fund, and just over 181 thousand dollars goes to support problem gambling treatment programs.
