Four businesses on the Gatlinburg Parkway reduced to rubble following fire
Portions of the 700 block of the Parkway in Gatlinburg remain off-limits following a weekend fire that killed one person.
A report from the city fire department said the victim’s remains were found among the gutted buildings that housed four businesses. The owners have arranged for the properties to be demolished for cleanup and safety.
Detours are in place in the downtown area on River Road and Cherokee Orchard Road for vehicle traffic. A few portions of the parkway sidewalk remain open to visitors.
