Kingsport Fire Marshal lifts city-wide burn ban

Kingsport’s Fire Marshal lifted the city-wide burn ban on Wednesday, citing recent rainfall as relief from elevated fire danger. All outdoor open burning is now permitted inside the City of Kingsport, but officials remind the community to practice safe burning.

Fires must be attended to at all times, and provisions must be made to keep the fire from spreading. Additionally, there should always be a means close by to extinguish the fire. The KFD says residents can be held responsible if a fire gets out of control, and to always burn safely.
