UPDATE: Online status update shows convict in 2014 deadly Kingsport crash granted parole
A status update posted online by the Department of Corrections shows the man convicted in the death of former Kingsport business owner Mike Locke has been granted parole.
Tennessee’s full parole board voted to accept a recommendation made last month following James Hamm Jr.’s latest appeal hearing to grant his release with conditions after he served 50 percent of his 14-year sentence.
Hamm was sent to prison for reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of death for the 2014 crash in Colonial Heights where Locke was struck by Hamm’s vehicle while hanging campaign posters along Fort Henry Drive.
