Griffith says US sanctions on Russia should include gas and oil; “More can be done”

Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA9) released a statement regarding sanctions imposed by the United States on Russia. He says, “The financial sanctions levied by the United States and our allies are an important measure to make Vladimir Putin pay a price for his war of aggression, but more can be done.”

Griffith says oil and gas should be covered by sanctions as well, as they are the lifeblood of Russia’s economy—they provide leverage over European powers, and help finance Putin’s war machine.
