Johnson City Schools designate March 1 as in-service day to prepare for middle school transition

Johnson City Schools have a designated teacher in-service day on Tuesday, as the district prepares to reconfigure middle schools. Beginning in August, Indian Trail and Liberty Bell Schools will become grades 6-8 only, which means fifth graders will stay at their elementary schools.

School officials say staff who are moving as part of this restructuring will use Tuesday as a “professional development day” to join their new school, and get familiar with new co-workers and buildings.
