City of Kingsport issues water boil advisory for portions of the city

The City of Kingsport issued a water boil advisory for portions of the city due to a water line break. The break happened early Wednesday morning on Fairview Avenue, causing a possible water outage to a large area bound by Stone Drive, Lynn Garden Drive, Granby Road, and the Virginia state line.

Crews are working to repair the waterline, and expect operations to be back to normal by Wednesday afternoon. City officials encourage residents in this area to boil any water used for ice, hygiene, and food or drink consumption until further notice. They go on to say a notice will go out to affected residents through the city’s callout alert system.
