WCSO TN launches new mobile command post
The Washington County, Tennessee sheriff’s office is launching a new mobile command post in areas hard hit by Helene. Sheriff Keith Sexton announced the new mobile command post at the start of a four-hour event at the Lamar Ruritan on Monday. Sexton said his officers have had an increased presence in areas impacted by Helene ever since the storm, but the large number of questions about which volunteers are real and which are scams were the catalyst for the command post. An investigator will be set up on Bumpass Cove Road, near Little Germany Road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day for at least the next two weeks.
