Washington latest locality seeking pro-life declaration
Lawmakers in Washington County, Virginia will consider adopting a resolution during their regular session that declares their locality a pro-life sanctuary.
The proposal would also declare the county has no interest in the recruitment, facilitation, or support of any company that would initiate, support, or expand services for abortion. Russell and Tazewell counties have already approved similar legislation.
Bristol Virginia City Council voted last month to change zoning laws that would prohibit future abortion clinics or expansion of current facilities.
