Washington County TN resident to receive new property assessments
Washington County Tennessee property owners will begin receiving reappraisal notices in the mail sometime around April 19-20. County officials say residential property went up over 68% after the latest assessment. Commercial property went up over 26%. This is the first reappraisal since 2019. The state of Tennessee will certify the county’s work and then mail reassessment cards to property owners April 17. Those numbers don’t mean that a tax increase will match the new assessed percentages. Most homeowners will only see a slight increase in their tax bills as any increase would be designed to bring in equal government revenue based on the previous values and tax rate.
