Washington County Tennessee Commissioners To Select Interim Sheriff

Either, a current Chief Deputy, and the first woman to run for Washington County Tennessee Sheriff, or a thirty year law enforcement officer or a retired DEA Officer will be named Interim Sheriff Monday evening. Washington County Commissioners will select either, current Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Leighta Laitinen, JCPD Police Lt. Keith Sexton or Retired DEA officer Michael Templeton as the Interim Sheriff, replacing Sheriff Ed Graybeal who retired in August. Commissioners are also expected to vote on whether to join the Tennessee Sub Division Opioid Abatement lawsuit that will approve related settlement agreements.
