VSP storm related accident report

The latest update from the Virginia State Police urges Virginians to avoid travel to allow the Virginia Department of Transportation and other emergency crews room to work on the roads. Statewide, since the start of the storm, Police report there have been 557 crashes as of 11 a.m. Thursday. Forty-eight crashes have had reported injuries. In Virginia State Police’s Wytheville Division that covers SWVA says there have been 56 crashes, seven with injuries. No fatal crashes have been reported so far in VA. If you do have to travel, officials urge extreme caution.
