VSP: Medical emergency a factor in fatal Buchanan County crash

A medical emergency was one of the factors in a fatal crash that occurred in Buchanan County, Virginia.

Preliminary details released by the state police said Ida M. Lawson, 68, of Hurley, was traveling northbound on Route 643 when the episode happened behind the wheel, causing Lawson’s car to leave the highway then go over an embankment and into a creek.

The investigation into the wreck continues.
