VSP: 150 tips received in Virginia on drone flights
Although it’s a small fraction compared to the more than 5,000 drone sightings in the northern US, Virginia’s Homeland Security service has received 150 tips of drone activity across the Commonwealth.
A report from the Virginia State Police issued on Thursday says VA Fusion Center experts are asking residents to report any drone sighting, especially those flying in restricted airspace over energy installations or military sites.
Governor Youngkin expressed concern earlier this week on the lack of intel from federal aviation agencies on the sudden spike of drone reports.
